Over the weekend I was talking to a friend who has the job from hell, and we were talking about ways that he could make money at home. I've hired him for special projects a couple of times and he's a great worker, but he enjoys sales about as much as I do, and it seems the bulk of work that people can do from home involves some kind of selling or recruiting. Since that is not his strong suit, he is going to have to look at a number of different things to make money at home that will help him make extra money so he can quit his job.

A painless way to make extra money appears to be answering surveys, but so many of these companies do not pay cash, but actually reward you with points or they enter your name into a pool that could make you a winner of some token amount. When signing up for the surveys, make sure you know how they do pay out, because many of them simply do not. Other programs, like envelope stuffing, are just scams, and should be avoided like the plague. Ad typing is another quasi scam, and the people who make money doing this are the ones recruiting others to buy their training materials.
